Position Overview
Type of Position: Travel
Description:
Cardiac OR Surgical Technologist Position Details:
- 3x12.0 hour shifts
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- DEN rotation, weekends, holidays and on call per unit need
- The Adult Cardiac OR cares for a wide variety of patients
- CABG's TAVI's and Heart Failure (VAD's, ECMO, Artificial Heart and Heart Transplants) just to name a few
- Using a multidisciplinary approach, the OR staff cares for patients of all ages
- The Surgical Technologist will provide technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical procedures and assists the surgical team from the scrub position during an operation
- Responsible for proper care and handling of instruments and facilitating room turnover between cases
- Maintains sterile technique, safe handling of sharps and performance of surgical counts as per hospital policy
- Demonstrates proper handling of solutions and pharmacologic agents under direction of a registered nurse
- Must have 2 years recent experience in a cardiac operation room
- NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician
- Two (2) years or recent experience in a cardiac OR
- Able to scrub and circulate
- BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
- Tech License (NY License ONLY)
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
- Two (2) Years Experience
- 2 years recent experience in a cardiac operation room
- Able to scrub
- Operating room experience in a level 1 trauma preferred
