Position Overview

Description:
Special Education Resource Teacher
Shift Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
General Definition of Work
- Provides individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborates with general education staff, families, and specialists to ensure equitable access to the curriculum
- Supports students in achieving their full academic and social potential
Qualifications

Certification and Experience
- SC certification in Learning Disabilities or Multi-Categorical, or appropriate certification required with a strong GPA in relevant coursework
- Experience with teaching special education students in a self-contained setting with emotional disability/emotional impairment or equivalent preferred
- Experience with supporting others with classroom instruction and behavior management
Special Requirements
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License or ability to provide own transportation
- May be required to travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
- Prior to beginning employment, negative TB test results must be provided
