Position Overview
Type of Position: Local Contract
Description:
Special Education Teacher - SCI/SXI (Severe Cognitive Impairment / Severe Multiple Impairment) Shift Details
- Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:10 PM
- Program: SCI/SXI (Severe Cognitive Impairment / Severe Multiple Impairment)
- Caseload: 12-15 students
- Develop and implement IEPs aligned with student goals
- Provide differentiated instruction based on individual learning needs
- Collect and document progress monitoring data
- Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and families
- Maintain compliance with IDEA and district special education requirements
- Foster a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Valid Michigan Special Education certification
- Cognitive Impairment (SA or CI) endorsement required
- Previous experience working with students with cognitive impairments preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
