NICU Registered Nurse - Local Contract Shift Details
- Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Orientation Date: September 30
- 3x12-hour shifts per week
- Weekend requirement: Every 3rd, or more if willing
- Every other holiday
- No on-call requirement
- If census goes down, a Standby process is in place — the person on standby must be able to get to the hospital within 1 hour to take an assignment
- A census decrease is not anticipated
- Level 3 care
- CPAP
- Ventilator management
- UVC lines
- Support in Labor and Delivery at deliveries when needed
- Provides strong developmental care
- Minimum 2-3 years of Level 3 NICU experience
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- BSN
- Positive attitude
- Takes initiative
- Strong work ethic
- Dependable
- Flexible
- Empathetic
- Strong clinical skills
- Accepts feedback
- 14 licensed beds with census currently much higher
- Approximately 50 nurses on staff
- 2 full-time Physical Therapists
- Nutritionist on staff
- Speech Therapist on staff
- Social Work support available
- Cares for babies born at 22+ weeks gestation
- No surgical patients
- If census decreases, nurses may be reassigned to either the Pediatrics unit or the Maternity unit to care for babies only — this is not likely to occur
