Description:
ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift | New York
Shift Details
- Schedule: Nights — 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (3x11.5-hour shifts)
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Minimum of 34.5 hours guaranteed per week
- Every other weekend (EOW) and holidays as needed
- Facility pays regular rate for overtime and holidays
- Scrub color: Royal Blue
Certifications Required
- AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- De-escalation Certification
- All certifications listed above are required upon offer
- CCRN and TNCC preferred but not required
Education Requirements
- BSN or higher degree from an accredited nursing school
Licensure Requirements
- RN License to practice in New York State or by reciprocity
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of ICU experience required
Clinical Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in managing patients with External Ventricular Drain (EVD)
- Proficient in managing multiple medication drips
- Proficient in use of Hemosphere Flotrac monitoring system
- Proficient in managing trauma patients of varying severities
- Able to perform patient assessments using CAM, CPOT, and RASS scales
- Proficient in care of patients undergoing hypothermia treatment
- Familiar with care of patients with Pleurevac chest tube drainage
- Familiar with use of Allscripts EMR
- Familiar with use of PCA pump
- Must observe strict isolation precautions, hand washing, and gel in/gel out protocols
- Must follow established standard operating procedures (SOP) and critical care practices of the facility
