Description:
Registered Nurse - Multi-Unit Float (Days) Shift Details
- Full Time, 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00am - 7:30pm)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday rotation required
- 2 On-Call shifts required per 4-week period
- Must be comfortable floating between Med/Surg, ICU, and Emergency Department units across two facility locations
- Cross-training across multiple units (Med/Surg, ICU, ER) is required
- Currently licensed by New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- BLS - through AHA or RQI system (required during clinical orientation)
- ACLS - through AHA or RQI system (required during clinical orientation)
- PALS - through AHA or RQI system (required during clinical orientation)
- NIHSS - required
- Basic Coronary Care - required within 6 months of hire
- CPI Certification - required within 90 days of hire
- Certification by the Emergency Nurses Association - recommended within 2 years of hire
- TNCC - recommended within 2 years of hire
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Critical Care units
- Critical care experience required
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Computer literacy
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Experience with electronic medical records
- Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Healing Environment principles of being professional, communicating effectively, and attending to the environment
- Work behavior must ensure safety, promote dignity, respect, and well-being, and exemplify healthy relationships
- Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development across the life span
- Must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's age-specific requirements
- Must be able to provide care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient groups
