Description:
Registered Nurse Supervisor - Part Time Nights Schedule & Shift Details
- Part Time Nights: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- 2x8s/3x8s rotation schedule
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage as needed (3x8 shifts)
- In-person or Zoom interview required
- Minimum: Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nursing
- Preferred: BSN
- Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse licensure
- Minimum 1-year nurse experience in long term care
- Supervisory experience across multiple units
- BLS required through AHA or RQI system during clinical orientation
- CPI obtained within 90 days of hire
- Under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC and in accordance with established policies and procedures, oversees the operation of the nursing units and personally or through subordinates, provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units
- Assures quality resident care through teaching and supervision of staff on respective shifts
- Communicates with Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager regarding identified and potential unit problems and collaborates with Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Managers to resolve problems
- Contacts Director of Nursing on off hours for only those critical issues requiring resolution and leaves appropriate communication at work for all other items
- Makes sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator - LTC (off-shift/weekends) within identified scope of responsibility
- Under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC and in accordance with established policies and procedures, oversees the operation of the nursing units and personally or through subordinates, provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units
- Ability to collaborate effectively with medical staff, department managers, ancillary services and customers in a professional and courteous manner
- Demonstrated ability to manage self professionally in stressful situations
- Ability to facilitate clinical management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling
- Familiarity with NYSDOH requirements
- Demonstrated excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills
- Computer literacy
- Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated
- Required tasks involve a potential contact with blood, body fluids, tissue
- Models, exemplifies and leads in accordance with Healing Environment principles
- Specifically: being professional, communicating effectively, and attending to the care environment
- This is evidenced by work behavior which ensures safety, promotes dignity, respect and well-being, and exemplifies healthy relationships
