Level II Registered Nurse - Neurosciences Stepdown Unit Position Overview
- Schedule: D/E/N Rotating Shift Schedule
- Shift Pattern: 3x12.0 hour shifts
- Requirements: Weekends, Holidays/On-Call/Callback/Charge per Unit Needs
- Start Date: 12/15 starts ONLY
- Duration: 17 weeks, ending 1/10/2026
- Through clinical practice, service excellence, professional development, and research and evidence based practice, The Level II Registered Nurse, under the direction of the Nurse Manager, is accountable for provision of competent care based on established standards
- The Level II Registered Nurse assumes an expanded role, which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities
- MUST HAVE STEPDOWN EXPERIENCE/PCU EXPERIENCE
- Two (2) Years Experience
- High acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required
- Telemetry Experience Required
- RN License (NY License ONLY)
- BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
- ACLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
- Q1 neuro checks
- EVDs (External Ventricular Drains)
- Lumbar drains
- Sub-dural drains
- 3%NS and cardene drips
- Arterial lines
- Carotid endarterectomy
- Aneurysm coil/clips
- DBS Insertion (Deep Brain Stimulator)
- VP shunts
- Seizures
- Must be able to commit to 9/15 start for 17 weeks, 1/10/2026 end
- All listed skills and certifications are required
