Registered Dietitian (RD) – Contract Assignment
Location: Vernon, Texas
Pay Rate: $53.00 Per Hour
Start Date: July 1, 2026
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
No weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements.
Alerion Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian (RD) for a full-time contract opportunity at a healthcare facility in Vernon, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate nutrition professional looking to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while enjoying a consistent weekday schedule.
Position Overview
As a Registered Dietitian, you will play a vital role in evaluating nutritional needs, developing individualized care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient health and wellness. You will work directly with patients and treatment teams to provide evidence-based nutrition care and education.
Responsibilities
• Assess patient nutritional status and develop individualized nutrition care plans
• Monitor dietary intake, progress, and outcomes of nutrition interventions
• Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and family members
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary treatment teams regarding nutritional needs and recommendations
• Document assessments, interventions, and recommendations in patient medical records
• Develop and approve patient menus in coordination with dietary and food service staff
• Promote healthy eating habits and support patients in achieving nutrition-related goals
• Ensure compliance with healthcare facility policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited college or university
• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Current Texas Dietitian License in good standing
• Minimum two (2) years of clinical dietitian experience
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Valid Texas Driver's License
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Additional Requirements
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening
• Successful completion of fingerprinting and background screening
• Compliance with facility immunization requirements
• Completion of required orientation and facility training programs
