Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) — Full Time Nights
Position Overview
- Full Time Nights
- 5x8 hours per week, Every Other Weekend (EOW)
- Holiday coverage required
- 37.5 hours per week
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
Required Certifications & Experience
- NYS Nursing Assistant Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Minimum one (1) year of previous Long-Term Care (LTC) or CNA experience
- Must be licensed for a minimum of one (1) year
Job Functions Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Resident ADL needs are met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures within a safe and comfortable environment
- Responsibilities include hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, skin care, and related tasks
- Documentation completed per protocol
- Resident environment and safety maintained as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Responsibilities include answering call lights and alarms promptly, provision of safety mats and low beds, restraint use under the direction of Nursing, and maintaining cleanliness of the unit
- Responsibilities also include behavior and fall prevention, appropriate use of and monitoring for malfunctioning equipment
- Documentation completed per protocol
- Resident nutritional needs met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Responsibilities include meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, feeding, and nourishments
- Resident preferences and choices shall be honored
- Documentation completed per protocol
- Resident rehabilitative (restorative and maintenance) needs met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Responsibilities include range of motion, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment, and use of assistive devices
- Documentation completed per protocol
- Resident rights, refusals, and concerns are reported to the Charge and/or Supervising Nurse in a timely fashion in accordance with policies and procedures
- Changes in resident physical, emotional, and psychosocial status are identified and reported to the Charge Nurse promptly
Occupational Exposure
- Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated
- Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues
