Full-Time CNA - Day/Evening Shift Rotations | Long-Term Care | New York State
Shift Details
- 5 x 7.5-hour shifts per week (37.5 hours/week)
- Day or Evening shifts scheduled as needed by facility
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday rotation required
- All contracts must run through holidays
- All contracts must start on a Tuesday or Thursday for full shift orientation
Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a licensed CNA in a long-term care setting
Required Certifications
- NYS Nursing Assistant Certification
- BLS certification — must be through AHA or RQI
Job Functions
- Assist residents with daily living needs including hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and skin care per care plan
- Maintain resident safety and environment — respond to call lights, use safety equipment, prevent falls, and clean the unit
- Support residents with meals — deliver trays, assist with feeding, use adaptive equipment, and honor food preferences
- Assist with mobility and rehabilitation needs including range of motion, walking, transfers, proper positioning, and use of mobility aids
- Take and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
- Measure and record weight, intake, and output
- Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of residents
- Help with residents' social and emotional needs through interaction and companionship
- Maintain confidentiality and residents' rights at all times
- Report resident concerns, changes, or refusals to a nurse promptly
- Complete all required documentation in a timely manner per protocol
Additional Information
- Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated
- Required tasks may lead to contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues
Required Skills
- NYS Nursing Assistant Certification and BLS (AHA or RQI only) — minimum 1 year
- One (1) year of experience in a long-term care or CNA capacity — required
