Description:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Full-Time Evenings Shift Details
- Full-Time Evenings
- 5x7.5-hour shifts
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Holiday coverage required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- NYS Nursing Assistant Certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required — must be through AHA or RQI only
- Must have been licensed for a minimum of one (1) year
- Minimum of one (1) year of previous Long-Term Care (LTC) or CNA experience required
- Meet residents' ADL needs as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures within a safe and comfortable environment
- Provide assistance with hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, and skin care
- Complete documentation per protocol
- Maintain resident environment and safety as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Answer call lights and alarms promptly
- Provide safety mats and low beds as needed
- Use restraints only under the direction of Nursing
- Maintain cleanliness of the unit
- Support behavior and fall prevention efforts
- Ensure appropriate use of equipment and monitor for malfunctioning equipment
- Complete documentation per protocol
- Meet residents' nutritional needs as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Assist with meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, feeding, and nourishments
- Honor residents' preferences and choices
- Complete documentation per protocol
- Meet residents' rehabilitative (restorative and maintenance) needs as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Assist with range of motion, ambulation, and transfers
- Maintain proper body alignment and utilize assistive devices appropriately
- Complete documentation per protocol
- Report residents' rights, refusals, and concerns to the Charge and/or Supervising Nurse in a timely fashion in accordance with policies and procedures
- Identify and promptly report changes in a resident's physical, emotional, and psychosocial status to the Charge Nurse
- Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated
- Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues
