Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Part Time | Long-Term Care
Position Overview
  • Part-Time Nights
  • Rotating schedule: 3x7.5-hour shifts / 2x7.5-hour shifts (37.5 Hours Biweekly)
  • Every Other Weekend (EOW)
  • Holiday rotation required

Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Required Certifications & Experience
  • NYS Nursing Assistant Certification required
  • BLS certification (AHA) required
  • Minimum one (1) year of previous Long-Term Care (LTC) experience
  • Must have been licensed for a minimum of one (1) year

Job Functions Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
  • Resident ADL needs are met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures within a safe and comfortable environment
  • Responsibilities include hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, and skin care
  • Documentation completed per protocol
Environment & Safety
  • Resident environment and safety maintained as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Responsibilities include answering call lights and alarms promptly, provision of safety mats and low beds, and restraint use under the direction of Nursing
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the unit, behavior and fall prevention, appropriate use of and monitoring for malfunctioning equipment
  • Documentation completed per protocol
Nutritional Needs
  • Resident nutritional needs met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Responsibilities include meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, feeding, and nourishments
  • Resident preferences and choices shall be honored
  • Documentation completed per protocol
Rehabilitative Care
  • Resident rehabilitative (restorative and maintenance) needs met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Responsibilities include range of motion, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment, and use of assistive devices
  • Documentation completed per protocol
Resident Rights & Reporting
  • Resident rights, refusals, and concerns are reported to Charge and/or Supervising Nurse in a timely fashion in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Changes in resident physical, emotional, and psychosocial status are identified and reported to the Charge Nurse promptly

Occupational Exposure
  • Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated
  • Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues

Required Skills & Qualifications Summary
  • NYS Nursing Assistant Certification and BLS (AHA) — Required — Minimum 1 year
  • One (1) year of experience in an LTC or CNA capacity — Required — Minimum 1 year
