CNA - Part Time Nights | Long-Term Care | New York
Shift Details
- Part Time Nights
- Rotating schedule: 3x7.5-hour shifts / 2x7.5-hour shifts, every other weekend (EOW)
- 37.5 Hours Biweekly
- Holiday coverage required
- All contracts must start on a Tuesday or Thursday and run through the holiday season — end date flexible
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
Required Certifications & Experience
- NYS Nursing Assistant Certification required
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum one (1) year of previous Long-Term Care (LTC) experience required
- Must have been licensed for at least one (1) year
Job Functions Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Resident ADL needs are met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures within a safe and comfortable environment
- Includes hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, skin care, and related tasks
- Documentation completed per protocol
- Resident environment and safety maintained as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Includes answering call lights and alarms promptly, provision of safety mats and low beds, restraint use under the direction of Nursing, maintaining cleanliness of unit, behavior and fall prevention, appropriate use of and monitoring for malfunctioning equipment
- Documentation completed per protocol
- Resident nutritional needs met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Includes meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, feeding, and nourishments
- Resident preferences and choices shall be honored
- Documentation completed per protocol
- Resident rehabilitative (restorative and maintenance) needs met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Includes range of motion, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment, and use of assistive devices
- Documentation completed per protocol
- Resident rights, refusals, and concerns reported to Charge and/or Supervising Nurse in a timely fashion in accordance with policies and procedures
- Changes in resident physical, emotional, and psychosocial status identified and reported to Charge Nurse promptly
Occupational Exposure
- Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated
- Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues
Required Skills
- NYS Nursing Assistant Certification and BLS — Required — Minimum 1 year
- One (1) year of experience in a LTC or CNA capacity — Required — Minimum 1 year
