Description:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Part Time
Shift Details
- Part Time Days and Evening shifts, scheduled as needed
- 2x8 or 3x8 shift rotations
- Every other weekend (EOW)
- Holiday: 3x7.5 shifts
- 37.5 Hours Biweekly (3 shifts/2 shifts rotation)
- All contracts must run through the holiday season — end date flexible
Required Certifications & Credentials
- NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (required)
- BLS certification — AHA or RQI specifically (required)
- Must have been licensed for a minimum of 1 year
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of previous Long-Term Care (LTC) experience required
- One (1) year of experience in an LTC or CNA capacity required
Job Functions Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Resident ADL needs are met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures within a safe and comfortable environment
- Responsibilities include hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, and skin care
- Documentation completed per protocol
- Resident environment and safety maintained as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Responsibilities include answering call lights and alarms promptly, provision of safety mats and low beds, restraint use under the direction of Nursing, and maintaining cleanliness of unit
- Responsibilities include behavior and fall prevention, appropriate use of and monitoring for malfunctioning equipment
- Documentation completed per protocol
- Resident nutritional needs met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Responsibilities include meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, feeding, and nourishments
- Resident preferences and choices shall be honored
- Documentation completed per protocol
- Resident rehabilitative (restorative and maintenance) needs met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Responsibilities include range of motion, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment, and use of assistive devices
- Documentation completed per protocol
- Resident rights, refusals, and concerns reported to Charge and/or Supervising Nurse in a timely fashion in accordance with policies and procedures
- Changes in resident physical, emotional, and psychosocial status are identified and reported to Charge Nurse promptly
Occupational Exposure
- Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated
- Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues
