Description:
CT Technologist Position Schedule Details • Monday - Thursday 9:30pm - 8am EST • On call, callback, holidays per unit needs • 4x10.0 shift structure Duties and Responsibilities • Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan; strictly adhering to department policy and procedure for patient safety • Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging • Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable • Insert IVs when necessary for the test • Positions patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling • Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within EPIC to include identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion • Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility Requirements • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology and maintains Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) • NYS licensure (must obtain PRIOR to starting position) • Two (2) Years' Experience • Level 1 Trauma Center Experience • BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) Preferred • Injection certification preferred-must be willing to complete during orientation process • Knowledge of Philips and Siemens equipment preferred Soft Skills Required • Effective written and verbal communication skills • A patient and compassionate disposition • Team player who can maintain a cohesive working environment Skill Requirements • Level I Trauma Experience - Required - 2 Years • CT Tech License (NY ONLY) - Required • BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) - Required • Two (2) years experience - Required - 2 Years • Siemens Scanner Experience - Required - 6 Months • Epic Experience - Highly desired - 1 Year
