Description:
CT/Rad Tech Position Shift Details • Full Time (4x9s) 10:45pm to 7:15am, shifts to be scheduled between Mon-Fri • Holiday rotation schedule • Flexibility needed for occasional weekend work as needed Required Qualifications • ARRT certification • NYS License • Must have minimum 1-year CT Tech experience with solid Rad Tech/X-Ray experience, OR C-Arm experience • NYS Licensure, BLS & ARRT Certifications - 1 year required • OR C-Arm Experience - 1 year required Position Overview • Performs technical radiographic assignments • Exercises complex skills, judgement and knowledge of the principles and methods of CT and Radiologic Technology • Performs diagnostic radiographic studies as requested • Operates portable diagnostic radiographic equipment where needed • Performs Infection Control according to Universal Precautions • Radiologic Technologist shall have the ability to provide care to infant, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients Job Duties • Operates with accuracy: Radiographic, CT, image processors and other related equipment of similar scope and complexity across different modalities • Evaluates images for quality and demonstrates accuracy of positioning based on procedure guidelines • Provides clear and concise instructions during procedures to calm and relieve stress for patients • Maintains competency in two specific modalities • Ensures that proper radiation protection is used for self, patient and other personnel by use of proper collimation, lead shielding and techniques when applicable • Demonstrates flexibility in assuming emergency call on weekdays, weekends and holidays in addition to routine hours • Demonstrates competency in RIS and PACS • Utilizes system to enter and edit patient exams and charges • Records other appropriate data, scanning documents and making notes • Responsible for the performance of radiographic and CT studies with and/or without IV contrast enhancement, which includes, but not limited to, brain, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, spine, facial, extremities • Follows NYSDOH Part 16 guidelines • Performs required QC activities Additional Information • Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated • Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, tissues
