Description:
Full-Time CNA Position - Long-Term Care Facility Position Overview
- Full Time Evenings position
- 5 x 7.5 hour shifts per week (37.5 hours total)
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- Must be able to start full shift orientation on a Tuesday or Thursday
- No guaranteed requests off on the dates of the 3 major holidays
- NYS Nursing Assistant Certification required
- BLS certification (AHA or RQI certifications only)
- Must be licensed for 1 year
- One (1) year of previous LTC experience or CNA capacity experience required
- Work under the direction of licensed nursing personnel
- Perform direct and indirect designated resident care within the scope of practice as defined by certification
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on assigned unit
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span
- Possess ability to assess data reflective of patient's status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs
- Provide care needed by adult and geriatric patient groups
- Meet resident's ADL needs as outlined in plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures within safe and comfortable environment
- Provide hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, skin care
- Complete documentation per protocol
- Maintain resident's environment and safety as outlined in plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Answer call lights and alarms promptly
- Provide safety mats and low beds
- Use restraints under direction of Nursing
- Maintain cleanliness of unit
- Implement behavior and fall prevention measures
- Ensure appropriate use of and monitoring for malfunctioning equipment
- Complete documentation per protocol
- Meet resident's nutritional needs as outlined in plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Provide meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, feeding, nourishments
- Honor resident's preferences and choices
- Complete documentation per protocol
- Meet resident's rehabilitative (restorative and maintenance) needs as outlined in plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Provide range of motion, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment and use of assistive devices
- Complete documentation per protocol
- Report resident's rights, refusals, and concerns to Charge and/or Supervising Nurse in timely fashion in accordance with policies and procedures
- Identify and report changes in resident physical, emotional and psychosocial status to Charge Nurse promptly
- Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated
- Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues
