Description:
Full Time Evening Certified Nursing Assistant Position Schedule Details • Full Time Evening shift - 5 days per week, 7.5 hours per day (37.5 total hours) • Every other weekend required • Holiday coverage required • No guaranteed holiday time off Education Requirements • High School Diploma or GED required Certification & Licensing Requirements • NYS Nursing Assistant Certification required • BLS certification required • Must be licensed for minimum of 1 year • One (1) year of previous long-term care experience required Position Overview • Work under the direction of licensed nursing personnel • Perform direct and indirect designated resident care within scope of practice as defined by certification • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on assigned unit • Must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development across the life span • Possess ability to assess data reflective of patient's status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs • Provide care needed by adult and geriatric patient groups Primary Job Functions Activities of Daily Living • Meet resident's ADL needs as outlined in plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures within safe and comfortable environment • Provide hygiene, grooming, dressing assistance • Perform incontinence/catheter care • Assist with elimination/toileting needs • Provide turning/positioning and skin care • Complete documentation per protocol Safety & Environment • Maintain resident's environment and safety as outlined in plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures • Answer call lights and alarms promptly • Provide safety mats and low beds as needed • Assist with restraint use under direction of Nursing • Maintain cleanliness of unit • Support behavior and fall prevention initiatives • Monitor equipment for proper use and malfunctioning • Complete documentation per protocol Nutritional Support • Meet resident's nutritional needs as outlined in plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures • Provide meal delivery and tray preparation • Assist with adaptive equipment and feeding • Provide nourishments as needed • Honor resident preferences and choices • Complete documentation per protocol Rehabilitative Care • Meet resident's rehabilitative (restorative and maintenance) needs as outlined in plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures • Assist with range of motion exercises • Support ambulation and transfers • Ensure proper body alignment and use of assistive devices • Complete documentation per protocol Communication & Reporting • Report resident's rights, refusals, and concerns to Charge and/or Supervising Nurse in timely fashion in accordance with policies and procedures • Identify and report changes in resident physical, emotional and psychosocial status to Charge Nurse promptly Important Notice • Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated • Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues
