Description:
Certified Nurse Assistant - All Shifts Available Position Overview
- Full Time, Part Time and PRN shifts available
- Under the direction of licensed nursing personnel, performs direct and indirect designated resident care within the scope of practice as defined by the certification
- Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on assigned unit
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs
- Provide care needed by adult and geriatric patient groups
Required Qualifications
- NYS NA Certification Required
- BLS (AHA or RQI certs only)
- One (1) Year of previous LTC experience
- Must be licensed for 1 year
- One (1) Year experience in LTC or CNA capacity
Key Responsibilities Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Care • Meet resident's ADL needs as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures within a safe and comfortable environment • Provide hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, skin care • Complete documentation per protocol Environment and Safety Maintenance • Maintain resident's environment and safety as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures • Answer call lights and alarms promptly • Provide safety mats and low beds • Manage restraint use under the direction of Nursing • Maintain cleanliness of unit • Implement behavior and fall prevention measures • Ensure appropriate use of and monitoring for malfunctioning equipment • Complete documentation per protocol Nutritional Care • Meet resident's nutritional needs as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures • Provide meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, feeding, nourishments • Honor resident's preferences and choices • Complete documentation per protocol Rehabilitative Care • Meet resident's rehabilitative (restorative and maintenance) needs as outlined in plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures • Provide range of motion, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment and use of assistive devices • Complete documentation per protocol Communication and Reporting • Report resident's rights, refusals, and concerns to Charge and/or Supervising Nurse in a timely fashion in accordance with policies and procedures • Identify and report changes in resident physical, emotional and psychosocial status to Charge Nurse promptly Important Notice • Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated • Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues
