What You’ll Do
As a Surgical Technician, your focus will be on delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical support. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing for scheduled operations and setting up sterile instrument tables in compliance with all safety protocols
- Assisting surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and ensuring all surgical needs are met in real-time
- Monitoring inventory and ensuring all tools and supplies are maintained, sterilized, and organized before and after each procedure
- Maintaining a sterile environment and supporting room turnover between cases
- Communicating effectively with nurses, anesthesia providers, and physicians regarding patient status and surgical needs
- Providing care appropriate to patients ranging in age from 6 months to adult
- Supporting patient safety by adhering strictly to aseptic technique and professional standards such as those established by AORN and AST
Who We’re Looking For
- A minimum of two years of experience as a Surgical Technician
- Familiarity with multi-specialty surgical environments or willingness to cross-train
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
- Strong understanding of sterile technique, instrumentation, and surgical safety standards
- Certification is not required, but hands-on experience and clinical proficiency are essential
- A high level of professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to patient-centered care
