As a Sterile Processing Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient sterilization of surgical instruments used in life-saving procedures. Your responsibilities will include:
- Sterilization & Packaging: Inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments and trays, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
- Operating Equipment: Operating steam sterilizers and performing simple maintenance to ensure optimal function.
- Decontamination & Cross-Contamination Prevention: Following strict procedures to decontaminate instruments and prevent cross-contamination.
- Inventory Management: Receiving, storing, and maintaining surgical supply inventory, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Quality Assurance: Performing daily quality checks on supplies and sterilization processes to ensure precision and patient safety.
- Must-Haves:
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician (HSPA or CBSPD)
- BLS certification
- At least 3 years of experience in sterile processing, preferably in large hospital settings (500 beds+)
- Travel experience (minimum 6 months)
- Two professional references from recent employers
- Preferred Experience:
- Level 1 trauma center experience
- Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER Cert)
